The Timken Company has introduced a new line of specialty belts designed for automated flour milling machines.
“In the USA, flour mills run 24/7 producing hundreds of millions of bushels of flour each year,” according to Matt Steffens, SDM-OEM account manager for Timken’s belts and chain businesses. “This presents an incredible opportunity for our USA-made Flour Power roller mill belt as a rugged and reliable aftermarket alternative engineered to withstand the abuse of this demanding environment.”
Roller mill machines are widely used in food-processing to separate the parts of grain, then grind them into flour. The rollers rotate at different speeds and in the opposite direction, shearing the material as it passes through a gap. A specialized double-sided roller mill drive belt is required to support this unique application.
Timken Belts engineers developed three Flour Power belt configurations to service the majority of milling machines active in the U.S. today. The most common configuration features high torque synchronous teeth on one side and v-ribbed grooves on the other. Some machines use a dual sided synchronous or dual sided v-ribbed belt that is also available from Timken Belts.
Flour Power roller mill belts complement the comprehensive line of Timken products for machinery used in food and beverage production that are readily available through Timken distributors.
